Yoga is the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, the harmony of the soul, and the symphony of life. Every year on 21st June, the world celebrates International Yoga Day.
Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient culture and tradition. It is not about exercise but about discovering a sense of oneness within oneself, the world, and nature.
Taking concrete steps towards the goal of providing holistic education, D.A.V. Public School, Sector 37, Faridabad, under the able guidance of the School Principal, Ms. Deepti Jagota, observed International Yoga Day on June 21, 2024, to enhance the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of its students.
The students and staff took part in the event which began with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra and a brief introduction to the significance of yoga, followed by a demonstration and explanation of the benefits of each yoga posture. Enthusiastic participants chanted shlokas and performed the asanas with great zeal. The celebration concluded with relaxing exercises to cool their minds and the Shanti Path.
The wise words of the Principal, elucidating the merits of yoga and encouraging everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle by making yoga an intrinsic part of their lives, made the event tremendously successful.
