Save Soil Movement
On 11th May,2022 D.A.V. Public School,Sector-37, Faridabad organized Save Soil Movement in association with Isha Foundation. The main aim of the event was to create awareness regarding the dire condition of top soil. 400 students including the Environment Club members from Classes 6th to 10th attended the seminar .The Volunteers of Isha Foundation with the help of videos showed how we are losing the top soil which is home to trillions of organisms and is losing its biodiversity. According to UN, soil could go extinct in just 60 years. Also as per the data available to scientists by 2045 world will have 40% less food while the population is expected to grow to 9.2 billion. This will create strife and violence in society.
Principal Ms. DeeptiJagota urged the students to take up this cause and involve everyone at home, family and friends so that we can leave the world a better place for our future generations.
Students wrote a letter to Prime Minister to champion this cause as they play a crucial role in mobilizing the energy of our youth. This campaign will catalyze necessary government policy changes.
