World Book Day was celebrated on 23rd April 2026 in the Primary Segment of D.A.V. Public School, Sector-37, Faridabad, with great enthusiasm to promote reading habits and spread awareness about the importance of books among students.

The celebration became more meaningful as 23rd April is also the birth anniversary of the renowned playwright and author William Shakespeare.

Various engaging activities were conducted during the Book Week for different classes:

Class 3: Bookmark Making Activity

Class 4: Poster Making on the Importance of Books

Class 5: Author Bibliography Activity on William Shakespeare, where students prepared a list of books written by him.

To create further awareness and interest among students, books written by William Shakespeare available in the school library were also displayed for the children.

The programme was conducted under the inspiring guidance of our respected Principal, Ms. Deepti Jagota, who herself is an avid reader and always encourages students and teachers to develop a love for reading and lifelong learning.

The constant support and encouragement of the Primary Segment Supervisory Head, Ms. Adarsh Sharma, also played a significant role in making the celebration successful. She continuously motivates students to explore books and nurture good reading habits.

The activities helped students understand the value of books, enhanced their creativity, and encouraged them to make reading a joyful part of their daily lives.
