“Financial literacy today shapes responsible citizens tomorrow.”
Financial literacy is the ability to use knowledge and skills to manage financial resources effectively for a lifetime. Under the initiative of the D.A.V. College Managing Committee, the Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Club (FLAEC) continues to function at D.A.V. Public School, Sector–37, Faridabad, where it was introduced in 2018–19 under the able guidance of Principal Ms. Deepti Jagota. A series of Financial Literacy activities for Classes I to V were conducted in November and December 2025, with active support and monitoring by Supervisory Head, Ms. Adarsh Sharma. On 12.11.2025, Class I students learned coin counting using different combinations, while Class II created a classroom supermarket to understand budgeting. Class III explored the concept of the barter system and the evolution of money through a PPT on 19.11.2025, followed by Class IV creating posters and collages based on currency symbols of different countries on 26.11.2025. Finally, on 03.12.2025, Class V students learned about the meaning and functions of banks through educational films, stories, videos, and PPT, thereby gaining practical awareness of money management and financial systems.
