BOOK WEEK CELEBRATION 2025

‘Reading is the soul's whisper, turning words into worlds and moments into eternity.’

DAV Public School, Sector-37 celebrated Book Week from 24th to 29th November for Classes I to XII with a vibrant series of literary, creative and interactive activities held across the school, making the library a lively hub of imagination and learning. The celebration aimed to nurture reading habits, spark creativity and strengthen students’ engagement with books.

The highlight of the event was the inauguration of the ‘Book Fair’in collaboration with Kohli Publications by the School PrincipalMs.DeeptiJagota who herself is an avid book lover. The event transformed the school into a haven for book enthusiasts. Students explored an extensive collection of books, discovering new genres and authors. The fair was a bustling hub of excitement, with many students eagerly purchasing their favourite titles.

Another remarkable feature was the ‘Meet the Author’ session, where a young storyteller Ms. ShrmishthaMohanty interacted with the students of Class VI and VII highlighting the importance of storytelling. The interactive Q/A session allowed students to connect at a personal level, leaving them inspired to explore their own creative potential.

One of the key highlights of Book Week was a biopic play on the life of Sudha Murthy, enacted, designed and executed by the talented students of Class XI. The Chief  guest, Mr.Arjun Singh Kadian, noted academic and policy professional known for his work on Haryana’s culture and development, addressed the students and motivated them to read widely, cultivate critical thinking and appreciate literature.

Throughout the week, students from all classes participated enthusiastically in activities such as Book-Jacket Design, Design-a-Book-Cover, Brochure Making, Creative Writing, Slogan Writing, Bookmark Designing, Poem Recitations and Story-Sharing Sessions. These activities encouraged students to explore books, discuss authors and genres, and express their thoughts through art and writing.

Principal Ms.DeeptiJagota emphasised that Book Week, celebrated in the school library, is an important annual initiative designed to promote joyful reading and develop a lifelong connection with books.The week concluded on a high note, leaving students inspired to explore the world of books with renewed enthusiasm. The Book Week concluded with a sense of accomplishment and a renewed enthusiasm for reading among the students. All the activities fostered critical thinking, sparked curiosity and emphasized the relevance of reading in everyday life.
