200 students of Class V visited the Gurukul Indraprastha at Faridabad as a part of the Educational Trip organised by D.A.V. Public School, Sector 37, Faridabad on 13^th December, 2019. The objective behind the endeavour was to acquaint the students with the ancient Indian system of education with the focus on the study of Indian scriptures along with modern education. The picturesque Gurukul established in 1916 by Swami Shradhanand, spread in an area of two hundred and forty acres was an epitome of tranquillity and bliss as it took the visitors away from the din of city to the serenity of a village existence. The headmaster of the educational institution explained the system of the Gurukul to the curious minds. The quietude and simplicity blew their minds away as the kids witnessed an alternative meaningful Satvik lifestyle whereby the protégés of the Gurukul developed a holistic personality by inculcating discipline enduring a stipulated regime that focussed on mental and physical development with equanimity. The Sangralaya (museum) which housed the pictures of freedom fighters, the tiny room which had been the refuge of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the Gaushala, the classrooms, the Chatrabas (dormitories) and the playground gave a glimpse of our roots and the glorious freedom struggle. The children returned to school enlightened and highly influenced.
